Replace the Bumper, or Guard the One You Have

Two Frontier front bumpers fit the F150, each cut in several year-specific versions. Both go on without drilling. Both keep the factory tow hooks and fog lights.

The Original is the heavier one. It runs 170 pounds on most years, and 176 pounds on the 1999-2003 trucks. It wears a diamond-plate face, and nothing sits over the grille. Want the most steel across the front, with the grille left open? That is the Original.

The Xtreme is lighter, at 130 to 136 pounds. It carries a low-profile grille guard across its own face, so the bar and the bumper are one piece. Its center section is 3/16-inch steel. This is the one to order when you want the guard and the replacement bumper as a single part.

The grille guard is the other route, and it is not a bumper. It mounts to the frame ahead of the bumper your truck already wears. Owners whose factory bumper is still straight, and who only want steel over the grille and headlights, stop here. The guards get heavier with each newer body, from 108 pounds on a 1999-2003 F150 to 139 pounds on the newest ones.

Every front bumper and every guard here is listed as a no-drill fit. None of the front bumpers take a winch. Frontier does not build a winch mount for the F150.

What Fits an Old F150, and What Fits a New One

Coverage is not even across the years. Here is where each line lands.

1999-2003. The Original front bumper, or a grille guard. There is no Xtreme this far back, and no rear bumper at all. Frontier does not build a Diamond rear for these trucks.

2004-2014. The widest choice on the page. Both front bumpers, a rear bumper, and a grille guard all fit.

2015-2017. The Xtreme front bumper and a rear bumper. Frontier makes an Original front and a guard for these years, but they are not on this page.

2018-2023. Rear bumpers only. The same two part numbers that started in 2015 run all the way to 2023. Frontier builds fronts and guards for these years; we do not carry them.

2024 and newer. A grille guard, and that is the whole list. Frontier builds no rear bumper for the newest F150.

One limit runs across all of it. Nothing here fits a Raptor. Frontier rules the Raptor out by name on the 2015 and newer rear bumpers and on the newest guard.

Adaptive cruise affects one front bumper here. Frontier says the 2015-2017 Xtreme needs its center plate modified to keep the factory adaptive cruise option, so plan that into the install. That same bumper is not cut for front parking sensors. Go by what your own truck has rather than by its year, because two F150s built the same year can differ.

Check Your Hitch Before You Buy a Rear Bumper

Frontier's rear line for the F150 is the Diamond. It wears the same diamond-plate face as the Original front, so a truck running both ends matches front to back.

The hitch is what owners get wrong. On a 2004-2005 F150, the factory hitch has to come out and an aftermarket hitch takes its place. Budget for that before you order. From 2006 on, the rear bumper works around the factory hitch and it stays put.

After the hitch, one decision is left. From 2006 on, each Diamond rear comes two ways. One arrives with LED back-up lights already fitted. The other comes without them, and Frontier sells the lights on their own. The steel is the same either way. The 2004-2005 rear comes one way only, with the lights included.

Every Diamond rear here is cut for the factory park assist sensors, so a truck with rear sensors keeps them working. The 2015-2023 rears add a corner assist step, which gives you a foot up at the back corner of the bed.
