Steelcraft Bumpers for Ford F150

The Ford F150 switched to an aluminum body in 2015, and Steelcraft is one of the few brands that also makes an aluminum bumper for it: the same grille-guard front at close to half the weight of steel. The rest of the lineup is plain enough. One open bumper, the Fortis, and two steel grille-guard fronts, the HD Elevation and the HD Replacement. Steelcraft is the value name in this group, priced under the top steel brands. Fronts cover 2009 to 2025 and rears reach back to 2006, in clean year blocks with no body-style guessing. They fit every gas and EcoBoost F150 and leave out the Raptor and the electric Lightning. US orders ship free, and the fit guarantee covers your exact truck.

Pick Your Steelcraft Front by the Job

Steelcraft builds three front bumpers for the F150. Start with what you want the front to do.

Fortis. The only open bumper, with no guard. It is a low, clean front in 6-gauge steel, where a lower gauge number means thicker steel. The center takes a 20-inch light bar, the corners hold four cube lights, and it has welded D-ring shackle mounts. It also undercuts the other two on price. Its job: a low profile and light mounts, with no guard in the way.

HD Elevation. This one puts a full grille guard on a steel bumper: mesh over the grille, bars around the headlights. It keeps your factory fog lights and tow hooks and leaves a 20-inch light-bar slot in the center. This is also the one Steelcraft offers in aluminum. Its job: grille and headlight coverage on a truck that still has to look clean.

HD Replacement. The same mesh guard on a heavier bumper for work. It adds a diamond-plate face and a front receiver hitch you can pull a strap or shackle from, and it is the heaviest steel front here at around 260 pounds. It comes in steel only and runs about the price of the HD Elevation. Its job: work, towing, and a recovery point built into the face.

Steel or Aluminum

Only the HD Elevation comes in aluminum, and on the F150 that choice earns a look. The steel version weighs around 240 pounds. The aluminum one runs closer to 130, so it pulls a lot of weight off the front axle, and aluminum will not rust the way steel does on salted roads. It supports adaptive cruise and the front camera. The trade is price and coverage. It is the most expensive front on this page, and Steelcraft makes the aluminum version for 2009 to 2020 only. One thing to be clear on: the aluminum is not about matching your truck's body. Every Steelcraft bumper bolts to the steel frame, so this is a weight and rust call, nothing more. The aluminum case is winter salt and front-axle weight. The steel case is price, plus coverage for every year.

Fitment by Year, and What It Leaves Out

Steelcraft maps to the F150 in clean year blocks: 2009-2014, 2015-2017, 2018-2020, 2021-2023, and 2024-2025. Each block has its own part, so you match the year, not a body style. The Fortis and the steel HD Elevation fit every block from 2009 on. The HD Replacement front starts in 2015. The aluminum Elevation runs 2009 to 2020. Out back, Steelcraft reaches further: the HD Elevation rear goes to 2006, so the oldest trucks, 2006 to 2008, take a rear but not a front. The rears are plain bumpers, and the HD Elevation rear adds corner steps for bed access.

Every bumper here fits the gas and EcoBoost F150 and skips the Raptor, which runs its own wider front end, and the electric Lightning. The guard-style fronts have a removable panel for the front camera and work with adaptive cruise, though that setup uses the driver-side tow-hook spot. Steelcraft leaves room for the front parking sensors but will not promise they read just like the factory bumper. Each bumper bolts to the frame with the kit included. Most owners set one on in an afternoon, with a second person for the heavy steel guards. The full Ford F150 page lines up every brand we carry for this truck.

The Ford F150 Bumper Fitment Guide explains what changed between these year blocks and why the boundaries land where they do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Steelcraft make an aluminum bumper for the F150?

Yes. The HD Elevation comes in aluminum as well as steel. The aluminum version weighs close to half what the steel one does, it resists road salt, and it supports adaptive cruise and the front camera. It costs more than any steel front, and Steelcraft makes it for the 2009 to 2020 trucks. For 2021 and newer, the Elevation is steel only.

Will a Steelcraft F150 bumper fit a Raptor or a Lightning?

No. The Raptor uses its own wider front fascia, so no standard F150 bumper bolts up to it, and Steelcraft's newer F150 fronts also leave out the electric Lightning. Every other F150, including the EcoBoost trucks, is covered front and rear.

What is the difference between the Steelcraft HD Elevation and HD Replacement?

Both wrap the headlights in the same mesh grille guard, so they protect the front end the same way. The HD Elevation has a smoother face and a 20-inch light-bar slot, and it is the one you can get in aluminum. The HD Replacement is steel only, a little heavier, with a diamond-plate face and a front receiver hitch you can pull from. The split is simple: a light bar up front or a receiver.
