Updated October 2026. Trim and equipment facts come from Toyota's own equipment sheets, price sheet and owner's manual. Fit notes come from each maker's site or our listings, and words in quotation marks are exact.
Every steel bumper listing says it fits a Toyota Tacoma. Not every Tacoma agrees.
On a 2024-2026 Tacoma, the trim name decides it. The trim is the version of the truck, like SR5 or TRD Pro. A TRD Pro or a Trailhunter needs a bumper whose maker says it fits that trim. A 2024-2026 TRD Off-Road has the regular factory bumper, yet some steel bumpers do not fit it, so buy one whose listing names it. The other 5 trims get the widest choice of Tacoma bumpers.
On a 2016-2023 Tacoma, the trim name hardly matters, because every trim shares the same bumper mount, the spots where a bumper bolts to the frame. From 2018, what matters is the radar behind the grille. On a TRD Pro, it sits lower.

2016-2023 Tacoma
✓Yes, most bumpers fit any trim
SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro
Same bumper mount on every trim. From 2018, pick one whose listing says adaptive cruise still works. On a TRD Pro, check its radar and its skid plate, the metal shield under the front. Why
Any 2024-2026 trim: plan for the radar. Toyota's owner's manual shows it in the middle of the lower front bumper. Adaptive cruise, the cruise control that keeps your distance, depends on it, so buy a steel bumper whose listing says adaptive cruise still works. The manual also says the radar must be recalibrated, or re-aimed, whenever the front bumper is replaced. Ask your Toyota dealer about it when you plan the install.
2024-2026 TRD Pro and Trailhunter: Buy Only a Bumper Confirmed for Them
On a 2024-2026 TRD Pro or Trailhunter, buy only a steel bumper whose maker says it fits your trim. Toyota builds these 2 with what it calls a high-clearance front bumper. Clearance is the space between the bumper and the ground. It is a different factory bumper from the one on the other 6 trims.
Some bumpers made for the regular front end rule these 2 out. Fab Fours spells it out on its 2024 Tacoma bumpers: "Not Compatible with these models: TRD OFFROAD / TRD PRO / TRAILHUNTER".
No 2024 bumper on our site is confirmed for these 2 trims yet. Get the fit confirmed by the maker or the seller before you buy.
2024-2026 TRD Off-Road: Buy Only a Listing That Names It
TRD Off-Road owners, buy only a bumper whose listing names the TRD Off-Road as a fit. This is the one that surprises people. Toyota builds the TRD Off-Road with the regular front bumper, not the high-clearance one. So a bumper made for an SR5 looks like it should fit.
It may not. Since August 2025, 3 owners of a 2025 TRD Off-Road asked us whether a Fab Fours bumper would bolt on. Each time, our answer was no. Fab Fours tested its 2024 bumpers on the TRD Sport and the SR5. On its Vengeance bumper, Fab Fours adds one detail: it "will not line-up w/ TRD trim package flares." Fender flares are the plastic arches over the front wheels.
A listing that says nothing about your trim is not a yes. Get the TRD Off-Road confirmed before you buy.
2024-2026, the Other 5 Trims: The Widest Choice
The SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport and Limited have it easiest: most bumpers for the 2024-2026 Tacoma are built for their front end. Pick one whose listing says adaptive cruise still works, then check the rest of the gear on your truck:
- Parking sensors: a package on the SR through the TRD Sport, standard on the Limited.
- Front camera: a package on the TRD Sport, standard on the Limited.
If your truck has them, the listing must say they still work too.
Here is the kind of line to look for, from ADD's Stealth front bumper listing: "Our bumper retains the OEM sensors, fog lights, and front camera view, while remaining compatible with adaptive cruise control." OEM means the parts the truck came with. The bumper needs minimal trimming to fit.

2016-2023 Tacoma: The Same Bumper Mount for Every Trim
From the SR to the TRD Pro, every 2016-2023 trim shares the same front bumper mount. That is why most listings simply say 2016-2023 Tacoma. Then check these:
- 2018-2023, any trim: keep the radar working. Every 2018-2023 Tacoma has a radar for adaptive cruise and the collision warning, behind the Toyota emblem on most trims. Toyota calls its radar systems Toyota Safety Sense. Buy a bumper whose listing says adaptive cruise or Toyota Safety Sense still works. Some listings say plainly that they do not.
- TRD Pro: read the listing for your trim. A few listings rule the TRD Pro out, like ARB's Summit front bumper: "Not compatible with TRD Pro models". From 2018, Toyota also bolts the TRD Pro's radar lower, under the big TOYOTA letters on the grille. The listing must say adaptive cruise still works on a TRD Pro too.
- TRD Pro: the aluminum skid plate. Toyota gives the TRD Pro one. ADD's Stealth Fighter, Body Armor's Pro Series and Westin's Pro-Series say they work with it.
- 2022-2023 Trail Special Edition: it has a TOYOTA letter grille too, and the 2023 adds the TRD Pro skid plate. Find out where its radar sits before you pick a bumper.
Steelcraft's Fortis 71-13420HP on a 2016-2023 Tacoma. Its listing reads "Exclude TRD-Pro with TSS", TSS being Toyota Safety Sense, the radar system. A 2018-2023 TRD Pro owner skips this one.
On any trim, watch the guard. A front bumper with a pre-runner guard or a full grille guard puts steel across the grille, right where the radar looks out. Fab Fours builds its pre-runner guard in 2 heights, and its Matrix listings say which height works with which radar spot.
Not Sure Which Trim You Have?
- 2024-2026: a steel ARB rear bumper with red recovery hooks from the factory means a TRD Pro or a Trailhunter. Factory bronze wheels mean a Trailhunter.
- 2016-2023: TOYOTA spelled out in letters across the grille came on the TRD Pro and the 2022-2023 Trail Special Edition. Owners also fit that grille to other trims. If yours has one, find out where the radar sits before you pick a bumper.

Tacoma Bumper Questions
What are the Toyota Tacoma trim levels in order?
For 2026, Toyota sells 8, from the lowest price up: SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, Trailhunter and TRD Pro. Starting prices run from $32,245 to $64,450, before the $1,745 delivery fee.
Will a TRD Sport bumper fit a TRD Pro?
On a 2024-2026 Tacoma, only if its maker confirms the TRD Pro, because the TRD Pro has its own high-clearance front bumper. On a 2016-2023 Tacoma, only if the listing does not rule out the TRD Pro, keeps its radar working and clears its aluminum skid plate.
Will a 2016-2023 Tacoma bumper fit a 2024?
No. The 2024 Tacoma is a new generation, and every Tacoma bumper we list is built for one side of that line or the other.
Will a steel bumper stop my adaptive cruise from working?
It can. Buy one whose listing says adaptive cruise still works, and mount nothing in front of the radar. On a 2024-2026 Tacoma, also have the radar recalibrated after the install, as Toyota's owner's manual asks.
