The Front Bumper: Open, a Bar, or a Full Guard

Every Premium front here is the same bumper, with one choice to make: the grille. Each one is 3/16-inch steel. The two-piece mount adjusts, so you can set it flush to the body. Each is winch-ready up to 10,000 pounds, with a 7/8-inch D-ring mount on both sides for recovery. The molded fog and turn lights come with every one, and a two-stage black powder coat seals the steel against rust.

What changes is how the front meets the grille. The No Guard keeps the grille open, the lowest and least armored of the three, for owners who want the least steel out front. The Pre-Runner sets one steel bar across the middle of the grille and leaves the headlights open, a middle ground between bare and boxed in. The Full Guard closes it all in, steel around the grille and over the headlights, the most coverage for trail work and brush. The grille face is the only difference between the three. Pick the look you want.

Two Sensor Checks Before You Buy

Sensors are the one place a Premium bumper can catch you out on a Canyon, and there are two spots to check. Trim is not one of them. Every 2015 to 2020 Canyon fits the same, from the base truck to the Denali, because the Canyon has no wide off-road version to work around.

Check the front first. The front bumpers do not clear front sonar. If your Canyon pings for distance up front, the steel sits where those sensors read, so a truck with front sonar is the one build this line leaves out. A Canyon without it fits with nothing to weigh.

Then the back. The rear bumper here is the non-sensor version. It suits a Canyon that never ran rear parking sensors, or one where you are fine letting them go. If keeping rear park assist matters to you, this rear is not cut for it. Look at your back bumper for sensor holes before you order.

The Rear Bumper and the Bolt-On

The rear bumper is formed 3/16-inch steel. Your factory receiver hitch stays, wiring and all, so towing is untouched. A step sits on each side of the tailgate, which makes reaching into the bed easy. The same two-stage black powder coat finishes it, so front and rear match.

Every bumper here bolts up to the factory frame points. Nothing gets cut, drilled, or welded. The steel is heavy, so plan to have a hand for the lift into place. The winch is separate. You supply your own and mount it inside the front.

Two kinds of Canyon sit outside this collection. GMC reworked the truck's front for 2021, with a new front bumper and a deeper grille, so a 2021 or 2022 Canyon cannot run these fronts.
