How Much Steel Over the Grille

Every Premium front bumper here is winch-ready. The mount is rated to 16,500 pounds, with one-inch D-ring points on the face for recovery. It comes in two pieces and adjusts, so you line the bumper up to the truck, not to a fixed hole. These fronts are heavy steel, roughly 300 to 375 pounds.

The build is your call. The Full Guard front suits owners who run rural roads, where a deer or a stray steer is a real risk. It wraps the most steel around the grille. The No Guard front is the lightest of the three, and it leaves the winch open for a fast hook-up. The Pre-Runner front sits between them, with a center hoop that takes lights but stays clear of the grille.

One catch on the newer trucks. The 2022 Sierra Denali does not take the full-guard front, so a Denali of that year runs the No Guard or the Pre-Runner instead.

Older Fronts Ship With Lights, Newer Fronts Cost Less

What you get in the box shifts with the model year. The 2015 to 2019 fronts are the original Premium design. They carry Fab Fours' molded light housings, and the 90mm fog and 60mm turn LEDs come free with the bumper. On these years you also pick a sensor or non-sensor front. It matches a truck with factory front parking sensors, or one without.

The 2020 and newer fronts are the New Premium design. They drop the built-in fog lights and cost less. In place of the lights are side cutouts. You add round or three-by-three cube LEDs yourself. GMC refreshed the HD front end for 2024, so that year takes its own cut of the bumper. One note for sensor trucks. The winch shackles and hooks up front can trip the parking sensors, so keep that in mind.

The front line starts at 2015. Older Sierra HD trucks are covered on the rear, not the front, in this collection. A Duramax changes nothing here. Fab Fours lists one part per body, so a diesel truck takes the same front as a gas one.

The Rear Bumper Goes Back to 1999

The rear runs the whole timeline, 1999 to the newest trucks, with no gaps. It carries the older Sierra HD trucks the front line skips. It stays current on the latest body too. Each rear bumper is 3/16-inch steel, about 190 to 200 pounds. It keeps your factory receiver hitch and trailer wiring, so nothing about towing changes. Three-quarter-inch D-ring points sit in the corners for recovery. A step is pressed into both sides of the tailgate. You reach the bed with nothing extra bolted on.

Match the rear to your sensors. The 1999 through 2010 trucks came without park sensors, so those rears have no cutouts. The 2011-2014 and 2015-2019 trucks offer a sensor or a non-sensor rear. From 2020 on, the rear is the sensor version. It keeps your factory parking sensors working, but it will not run a blind-spot monitor, so check what your truck has.
