What Comes Built Into the Front Bumper

Every Premium front bumper here arrives with the same hardware built in. The winch mount is rated up to 10,000 pounds, sized for a midsize truck. Three Looks Over the Grille, One Sensor Tradeoff

The three builds differ in one place: how much steel stands in front of the grille.

• No Guard leaves the face open. It is the lowest, cleanest of the three.
• Pre-Runner runs a single steel bar across the center of the grille, headlights left open. It gives you a spot to stack a light.
• Full Guard walls the grille and headlights behind steel uprights. It is the most coverage and the most steel.

No Guard for the clean nose. Pre-Runner for a center light mount and some frontal cover. Full Guard when brush and animal strikes are the real risk. On the 2016-2023 trucks the weight tracks the steel: 220 pounds open, 240 with the pre-runner bar, 250 with the full grille guard.

One tradeoff applies to all three. None of these fronts is sensor compatible. If your Tacoma has factory front parking sonar, the steel sits where those sensors read, and that system does not carry over. Check your truck for front sonar before you order.

The Tacoma's Nose Changed Twice, and the Front Follows

A Premium front only bolts up if it matches your truck's nose. The Tacoma's nose changed twice since 2005, so the fronts split into three ranges.

The 2005-2011 trucks are the early second-generation Tacoma. Toyota restyled the front end for 2012. A new grille, headlights, hood, and bumper mean the 2012-2015 trucks take their own front. The 2016 redesign brought the third-generation truck. The 2016-2023 Tacoma takes a third front. Every range carries all three looks, so your years never limit the look you run.

The fronts stop at the 2023 truck. Toyota moved the Tacoma to a new platform for 2024, and this collection does not carry a Premium front for the 2024-and-newer truck. If that is your Tacoma, the rear below still fits, and the FAQ points you to the newest-truck fronts.

The Rear Bumper, Plus a Tire Carrier for the Older Trucks

The Premium rear bumper is formed 3/16-inch steel. It keeps your factory receiver hitch and trailer wiring right where they are, so towing does not change. Most fits build a step into each side above the tailgate, so you climb into the bed easily. Three-quarter-inch D-ring mounts give the back its own recovery points.

Two fitment notes on the third-generation rear. It does not accommodate the blind-spot monitoring system, so a Tacoma with blind-spot warning loses it at the back. And the 2016 through 2022 trucks need the factory tow package for the rear to bolt up.

Rear coverage runs further than the front. There is a non-sensor rear for the 2005-2015 trucks, a non-sensor rear for the 2016-2023 trucks, and a rear for the newest 2024-and-up Tacoma.

The 2005-2015 trucks add one more option. A tire carrier rides on the base rear bumper and holds your spare off the back. It needs that base bumper under it, so plan the two together.
