Fab Fours Matrix Bumpers for GMC Sierra 1500

Two Sets of Front Bumpers, and the Grille Tells You Which

GMC redrew the Sierra's front end partway through 2022. Fab Fours answered with a second pair of part numbers. Both start at the 2019 redesign, so nothing on this page reaches a 2018 or older Sierra. The 2 noses are easy to tell apart.

The refreshed truck got a wider grille, thinner headlights and a reworked front bumper on every trim. Park it next to a 2021 Sierra and the fronts do not match. That change is what the part numbers follow.

Two model years need a second look, and the badge reads the same on both. In 2019 GMC kept building the previous body and sold it as the Sierra 1500 Limited, in double cab only. Neither front bumper on this page is made for that truck.

The 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited is the opposite case. The refreshed truck did not reach production until early 2022, so GMC sold the 2021 truck beside it under the Limited name. It wears the 2019-2021 face, so the earlier part number is the one that lines up. Our listing for that part still reads 2019-2021, so send us your year and trim before you order it.

The Pre-Runner Guard, and What It Does Not Cover

The Pre-Runner Guard is a single tube that rises off the bumper and crosses the lower half of the grille. It is not a full grille guard. The GMC badge stays in the open, and nothing reaches the headlights.

Fab Fours does build a Matrix with the grille covered, and that one belongs to the HD trucks. On a Sierra 1500 the No Guard and the Pre-Runner Guard are the whole lineup.

Want a bar up across the grille? Take the Pre-Runner Guard. Want the lowest, flattest front end, with nothing above bumper height? Take the No Guard.

What the Front Bumper Includes, and What It Does Not

What you get, whichever part number you order:

• 3/16-inch plate steel, in Fab Fours 2 stage black powder coat.
• A winch tray sized for a Warn Zeon 12 or anything smaller, so 12,000 pounds is the limit.
• A center mount for a single row 30-inch light bar.
• Holes cut for the factory front parking sensors.
• Room for the factory front camera.
• D-ring mounts in the face for recovery.
• An open lower section that feeds air and clears a taller tire.

The winch and the light bar are separate purchases. So is the control box relocation kit, part 89960, which a Warn Zeon needs. One thing to settle before you buy the bar: a double row only fits when the tray is empty.

The engine rules some Sierras out. Fab Fours does not list the Matrix for the diesel or the turbo 4-cylinder, and says the diesel was never tested on it. The turbo 4-cylinder is the base engine on a Sierra 1500, so that is not a rare build. Check what is under your hood first.

It bolts to the frame on brackets Fab Fours supplies. The mounting hardware and the instructions come with the bumper. It is heavy enough that you want help holding it square.
