Your year decides which fronts you can run. The 2012 to 2015 trucks take an open front or a pre-runner. The 2016 to 2023 Tacoma, the third generation, has the widest choice: an open front, a low pre-runner, or a high pre-runner. The 2024 and newer trucks come as an open front or a pre-runner.

Every one is cut from 11-gauge American steel. Gauge runs backward, so a smaller number means thicker plate. At 11-gauge you get real steel without the dead weight that hurts a midsize. The face carries a lower cutout that opens up airflow and clears bigger tires. The center is slotted for a 20-inch light bar, with a mount on each side for a pair of 3-by-3 pods. Lights are not included.

Each front is a complete bolt-on. The brackets tie straight to the frame, the kit and instructions come in the box, and there is no cutting. Plan an afternoon and a second person for the lift.

The Pre-Runner Hoop and Your Front Sensors

The pre-runner option adds a raised steel hoop over the center of the front bumper. It gives you a taller mounting point for lights and the raised, pre-runner stance. On the 2016 to 2023 trucks you can take that hoop in two heights, low or high. It is not a winch mount. The Vengeance is a non-winch front.

A few fitment notes matter here. The factory front parking sonar does not carry over on these steel fronts. Toyota Safety Sense does: on the pre-runner fronts, the forward camera moves into the Toyota emblem, so the system keeps working. One more on trim. On the 2016 and newer trucks, these fronts are cut for the standard fender flares, and they will not line up with the wider TRD-trim flares. A TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, or Trailhunter needs a fitment check first.

The Rear Bumper

The Vengeance rear is one steel bumper per range, and it ties into your factory receiver hitch and wiring. None of the rears keep blind-spot monitoring, so plan for that if your truck has it.

The 2012 to 2015 rear is a non-sensor bumper, with two openings in the face for a pair of 3-by-3 lights. The 2016 to 2023 rear is the sensor-ready version. Two things to know there. A 2016 to 2019 truck needs the factory tow package to finish the install. And the parking sensors are tuned for lifted trucks, so a stock-height truck needs the sensor mount tuned.
