Start With the Front Bumper, Not the Part Number

Four front lines fit these trucks. Weight tells them apart fastest, and what is welded into each one tells the rest. One year note first: Chevy built a single HD front end from 2020 through 2023, so "the 2020 body" below means all four of those years.

Xtreme. The open one. It trades the full face for contoured upper loops, so more of the truck shows, and on the 2020 body it weighs 176 pounds. Two gaps to know. We carry no Xtreme for the 1999 to 2002 or the 2007 to 2010 trucks, and anything older than that 2020 body will not keep the factory park assist sensors. Want the least steel and the most truck showing? This is the one.

Original. Frontier's heritage line, a full diamond-plate replacement for the stock steel. It is the only front here cut for the whole run, from the 1999 trucks to the newest body. It weighs about 185 pounds on the older trucks and 212 from the 2011 body on. Most fitments keep the factory tow hooks and fog lights, and several take a 20-inch Rigid E-Series light bar. Owners who want the classic Frontier face and no year gaps land here.

Pro. Thicker steel, with a hitch built into the bumper. The Pro sets a heavy smooth plate over diamond plate and welds a 2-inch receiver into the face. The 2011 through 2019 Pro lists quarter-inch steel. The 2020-body version weighs 277 pounds and rides on heavy steel brackets. Choose the Pro when you want a receiver on the nose and thick plate around it.

Commercial. A pipe bumper, and the heaviest here at 300 pounds. The base is 4-inch schedule 40 pipe, schedule 40 being the standard wall thickness, and it carries its own welded 2-inch receiver. It fits the 2020 body only. This is the fleet and work-truck front.

For a 2024 or newer Silverado HD, the Original is the front we stock for the new face. On this page the Pro, the Commercial and the Xtreme stop at the 2020 body. Engine makes no difference to any of it. Frontier lists no separate diesel part, so a Duramax takes the same bumper as a gas truck.

Why the Same Front Bumper Has Four Part Numbers

Open the grid and you will see four Original fronts listed for one year range. They are the same bumper. What splits them is what your front end already carries.

The front camera. Some parts have the opening for it and some do not. On the Commercial, one version clears the camera and the other will not. The fitment line on each listing says which.

Park assist sensors. The Original keeps them from the 2015 trucks on. The Pro keeps them from 2011. The Xtreme only picked them up on the 2020 body.

A light bar. Several fronts are cut for a 20-inch Rigid E-Series bar. The bar itself is sold separately.

Adaptive cruise. Chevy brought it to the HD trucks for 2024. The Original front for the 2024 and newer body works with it.

The Rear Bumper and the Year Your Truck Got Sensors

Frontier builds one rear bumper for these trucks, the Diamond. It wears the same diamond-plate face as the Original front, weighs 91 pounds, and arrives as one welded piece.

The sensor line falls at 2007. Rears for the 1999 through 2006 trucks are listed with no sensor support at all. From the 2007 trucks on, the rear takes the factory backup sensors.

Backup lights are a per-part choice, not a year rule. In most year ranges Frontier lists two rears: one with the lights in the box, one where the lights are sold on their own. Read the part number, not the year. The 2015 through 2019 rears add a corner step at each end and leave the factory hitch reachable.

The rear stops at the 2019 trucks, and that is a Frontier decision, not a gap on our shelf. Frontier builds no Diamond rear for the 2020 and newer HD. For those trucks the front bumper and the grille guard are what it makes.

Grille Guards, and Which One Keeps Your Sensors

Not every build needs the factory bumper gone. Frontier's grille guard wraps the front and mounts to the frame, and the stock bumper stays where it is. A punched steel screen covers the grille, with tubing around the headlights.

Check the weight on the listing. On the 2020 and newer trucks, the guard without the sensor cutouts weighs 110 pounds. The one cut for the factory sensors weighs 119. That nine pounds is the tell, and it holds on both the 2020 trucks and the 2024 refresh.

Drilling is the other thing to check. The 2007 through 2014 guards need the factory bumper drilled. Every other one here bolts on with nothing cut. Frontier covers these trucks with a guard from 2001 up to the newest body.
