Start With the Legend

The Legend is the front bumper Ranch Hand makes for every Ram 2500/3500, from the 1994 trucks to the newest 2025-2026. It is the one with the full grille guard, the brush-guard wraparound that shields the headlights and grille. The steel is diamond-plate over a heavy 4-inch pipe, with a 2-inch receiver so you can still push a trailer. It keeps your factory tow hooks and fog lights. This is heavy steel, north of 250 pounds, so grab a second set of hands. Most owners have it bolted on in about two hours.

There is a matching Legend rear too, the full-width piece Ranch Hand calls the Horizon. It is rated for tow loads, takes an optional bolt-on receiver, and covers the trucks through 2018. On the 2019 and newer Rams, the rear is a Sport instead.

When You Want Something Other Than the Legend

Three other series fit the Ram 2500/3500. Each one trades the Legend grille guard for a different job.

Summit. The clean full-width front, no grille guard, lighter and a few hundred dollars less than the Legend. It bolts on, reuses your factory tow hooks, and leaves room for the front parking sensors. On a truck with adaptive cruise, a supplied bracket relocates the module. One catch: the Summit does not work with fender flares. Go Summit if you want solid front protection but a near-stock face.

Sport. This is the one with the winch. The Sport front for the 2010-2018 trucks carries a tray rated for a winch up to 15,000 pounds. The steel is quarter-inch formed channel and diamond plate, still with a 2-inch receiver. Pick the Sport front if recovery duty is the point. Out back, the Sport rear is the lighter, lower-profile rear, LED-lit, with cutouts for your factory park sensors.

Midnight. The blackout series, the same heavy steel in a clean black finish, on the 2010-2024 trucks. The front comes with a grille guard or without, so you set the look. A matching Midnight rear is offered on the 2010-2018 trucks. Plan on three to five hours up front, since you move your factory sensors and wiring into the new bumper.

Match Your Year and Your Sensors

The Ram HD changed its front end more than once, so each bumper is cut for one run of years. Ranch Hand splits these across the 1994-2002, 2003-2005, 2006-2009, 2010-2018, 2019-2024, and 2025-2026 trucks. Order for the years printed on the listing and it lands on the factory mounts.

Sensors are the other thing to get right. On the 2010-2018 trucks, the Legend and Summit come in versions with the sensor cutouts already there. On the 2019-2024 trucks, watch for the front camera. The standard front fits trucks without it, and a separate version is cut to clear the camera and the parking sensors. If your Ram has a camera in the grille or front bumper, order that one. The product title spells out which is which.

Two more notes. The diesel does not change the front bumper: a Cummins 2500 or 3500 bolts up the same as a gas truck.
