Vengeance or Premium: The Winch Decides
Fab Fours runs two front bumper lines on this generation. They are not two price points for the same part. They do different jobs.
Vengeance is the 11-gauge front, roughly an eighth of an inch of steel. Gauge is just steel thickness, and a lower number means thicker plate. Fab Fours cuts this one high and tight to the body. A lower cutout increases airflow, and the shape clears oversized tires. The face holds a center mount for a 20-inch Rigid light bar, plus side mounts for two 3-by-3 dually lights. Those lights are sold separately. Vengeance is not rated to carry a winch. It starts at $2,379.99.
Premium moves up to 3/16-inch US steel, about half again as thick. It is winch-ready to 12,000 pounds and carries one-inch D-ring mounts for recovery. The mount is a two-piece setup with adjustment built in, so you can dial the fit in on the truck. Fab Fours sets 90mm fog and 60mm turn lights into molded housings and includes them with the bumper. Premium starts at $3,499.99. The full Premium lineup for these SUVs covers every build.
Put a winch on your list and the choice is made. Premium is the line that takes one. Skip the winch and Vengeance saves you about eleven hundred dollars while keeping the clearance and the light mounts. Fab Fours is the fourth largest aftermarket bumper manufacturer worldwide by volume, and both lines carry its lifetime structural warranty to the original purchaser.
No Guard, Pre-Runner Guard, or Full Guard
How much steel stands over the grille is a separate call from which line you pick. Both lines offer more than one build.
No Guard leaves the grille open and keeps the front end low. It suits an SUV that mostly sees pavement. The Pre-Runner Guard adds a raised steel section across the grille center, which gives a light bar somewhere to bolt. The Full Guard carries steel across the full grille, the most cover of the three. On this page the Full Guard comes on the Premium line.
The Rear Bumper Adds Steps and Keeps Your Hitch
The rear bumper runs the same 3/16-inch steel as the Premium front. A step sits at each side of the tailgate, which gives you a place to stand when you load the roof. The OEM receiver hitch and its wiring stay in place. It carries 3/4-inch D-ring points for recovery, and it lists at $2,689.99.
Fitment out back is narrower than up front. Fab Fours cuts this rear bumper for the Suburban, whose body runs longer than the Tahoe's. A Tahoe takes a different part. Read the fronts as the shared pieces and the rear as the Suburban's.
What Your Driver Aids Give Up
This is the generation where Chevy loaded these SUVs with driver aids, and steel trades some of them away. The trade differs by line, so read it against your own truck. These aids were options, not standard equipment. On the 2020 trucks, front and rear park assist sat on the Premier and side blind zone alert on the LT.
Fab Fours flags the front sonar system as incompatible with both lines. The Premium front adds two more, listing blind spot monitoring and lane departure as non-functional once it is on. The Vengeance front lists neither of those and is marked sensor compatible. If your SUV runs blind spot monitoring, ask us to confirm the Vengeance against your build before you order. The rear bumper keeps its sensor cutouts but does not support blind spot monitoring out back.
One detail worth knowing before the crate arrives. Fab Fours does its sensor testing on lifted trucks, and says a stock-height truck can need the sensor mount tuned. Nothing is wrong with the bumper when that happens. Budget a little extra time for that step if your SUV sits at factory ride height.
Every bumper here bolts to factory frame mounts, and Fab Fours estimates about four hours on the front. The steel is heavy and it ships freight, so line up a second set of hands and a clear spot for the pallet. For the older years and the brands this generation does not carry, the Chevy Tahoe / Suburban bumper hub covers the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bolt a winch to the Vengeance front bumper?
No. Vengeance is the lighter 11-gauge line, and Fab Fours does not build it to carry a winch. It gives you tire clearance and mounting points for a 20-inch light bar and two dually lights. For a winch, step up to the Premium front bumper. It is rated to 12,000 pounds and carries one-inch D-ring mounts.
My Suburban sits at stock height. Will the sensor mounts work?
Plan for some setup. Fab Fours optimizes these sensor mounts for lifted trucks. On a stock-height truck it calls for special care, and the mount can need tuning so the sensors read correctly. That is a setup step, not a defect. Build extra install time into the job, or have your shop set the mount during fitting.
I drive a Tahoe. Which of these bumpers work on it?
The fronts. Chevy built both SUVs on the same front clip from 2015 through 2020, so the Vengeance and Premium front bumpers go on a Tahoe. The rear is the exception. Fab Fours cuts it for the longer Suburban body, so a Tahoe owner needs a different rear bumper. Ask us to check your year and build before you order either end.
